when spirit makes itself known in a meditation group

I wanted to share something that happened recently in one of my meditation groups.

This was my Tuesday evening group, which I usually run online and in person. We always begin with a gentle check-in, allowing everyone to arrive fully, and then we move into meditation. When we gather like this, I’m very aware of the collective energy in the space. Often, during the meditation, Spirit steps forward and I’m guided to channel messages-sometimes guidance, sometimes reassurance, sometimes exactly what someone needs to hear in that moment.

When messages come through, I don’t name who they’re for. I trust that the person it’s meant for will recognise it.

That evening, I began channelling as usual. Messages flowed, one after another, and then they stopped. I assumed this meant everyone had moved into their own inner journey, which is very normal. So I stayed present and held the space.

A couple of minutes later, though, I felt a new layer of energy entered the meditation.

When I’m working, I can feel the individual energies of the people in the group, and this one felt different-unfamiliar. Spirit nudged me to begin channelling again, so I delivered a message for this energy. As I spoke, I was quietly trying to place it. It didn’t feel like it belonged to any of the women who were present that night.

That in itself was unusual. Normally, I have at least a sense of who a message is for- whether it’s one person, or perhaps something shared by a couple of people. This time, there was nothing. Just a very clear message, coming through for someone I couldn’t identify.

When the meditation came to an end and everyone returned, one of the women smiled and said,“Oh… my daughter joined me for a moment. She just popped in to see if she could tune in. She wanted to see if you’d notice her energy.”

And of course-I had!

The message I’d channelled was for her daughter, and it was exactly what she needed to hear. It landed perfectly.

I’ll be honest- that moment gave me a little boost. Not from ego, but from trust. A reminder that Spirit is always present, always precise, and always working in ways far beyond what we can anticipate.
